You Shouldn’t Depend on RON Platforms for Work. Here’s Why:

In the world of notaries, Remote Online Notarization (RON) platforms have become a buzzword. They're like shiny new gadgets that everyone wants to try. You log in, wait for a job to pop up, and bam! You're notarizing documents from the comfort of your home.

Sounds like a dream, right?

Well, that’s because it is, fortunately and unfortunately. It’s important to remember you became a notary business owner to work on your terms, not someone else’s - including a platform. You don’t want to have to zoom to your computer every time a job pops up on the board.

RON platforms are incredibly useful tools in our notary toolkit, but depending on them for work might not be your best bet. It’s kind of like if you were sitting there staring at your notary stamp and journal and waiting for them to give you a signing. They’re just the tools, ya know?

Sure, you might snag a job from their job boards now and then, but think of these platforms more as a tool than a consistent lead source.

If you are going to offer remote online notarizations (and you should if your state allows), you will need a RON platform. Just remember, RON platforms are there to provide the technology for online notarizations. They're not necessarily designed to keep your schedule full.

The key to a thriving notary business is diversification. Don't put all your eggs in the RON job board basket. Explore other avenues to generate leads.

Some of my favorite ways to drive leads for Remote Online Notary leads for our team are:

Using NotaryMarketingCo marketing supplies - flyers, email templates, social media posts. So many great tools that can be easily edited.

Engage with local businesses, law firms, and real estate agencies.

Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings and networking events. My local community can be a gold mine for notary work.

Utilize social media, local advertising, and word-of-mouth to promote your services.

Remember - you're not just a notary; you're a brand.
